Description

Abstract:

Meson-photon transition process is the simplest exclusive process involving the strong interaction. The meson distribution amplitudes (DAs) provide essential information about the non-perturbative dynamics of a QCD bound state. Using a simple scalar model in 1+1 space-time dimension, we calculate the transition form factors exactly covering both the space-like and time-like regions without resorting to analytic continuation. We perform the calculation of the form factors not only by a manifestly covariant way but also by computing all four components (++, +-, -+, --) in the light-front dynamics (LFD). With the help of the interpolation method between the LFD and the instant form dynamics (IFD), we discuss the zero mode issues arising in the calculation of the minus-minus component of the transition amplitude, namely, the necessity of including the contributions from the light-front momentum fraction x<0 and x>1 regions due to the arc contribution in the contour integration.

Dr. Bailing Ma is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Argonne National Laboratory, who studies the properties of nucleons and atomic nuclei based on the interactions among quarks and gluons, the elementary particles that make up matter. She obtained her Ph.D. from North Carolina State University in 2022, where she worked on unifying the light front form with the instant form of dynamics. She is interested in exploring the fundamental structure and dynamics of hadronic matter using both computational and analytical methods.
