Exclusive and inclusive semileptonic decays of heavy mesons from lattice four-point correlators

Abstract: In this talk, I will focus on the semileptonic decays of $ B_s \rightarrow X_{cs} l \nu $ and $ D_s \rightarrow X_{s\bar{s}} l \nu $. I will first present the motivation and basic idea of simultaneously extracting inclusive and exclusive observables from lattice four-point correlators. I will then present the numerical subtleties and results. For inclusive observes, I will focus on our recent developments of method to estimate the kernel approximation errors. For exclusive observables, I will discuss the BCL parameterization of pseudoscalar-to-pseudoscalar form factors, and the insights on the 1/2-vs-3/2 puzzle from the $ P $-wave form factors. The current pilot investigation is done using only one lattice ensemble, and in the end I will highlight some challenges of controlling systematic effects in the future.
