PDF and proton structure at hadron colliders

by Prof. Siqi Yang (USTC)

Asia/Shanghai
Description

Abstract: High precision measurements at hadron colliders provide a good opportunity to improve our understanding of the proton structure. However, recent studies on the parton distribution functions(PDF) shows that it is not easy to improve by just having higher precision on those old measurements of which the information has already been included in the global analysis. Instead, new measurements which give unique information on the proton structure is more urgently needed. This talk will review the current PDF global analysis and introduce a series of new experimental observations at hadron colliders.
